The Longwood Rotary Club has maintained a sustained commitment to serving its community as far back as its chartered beginnings in 1997.  With a current membership of 101 active members, including corporate members, Rotarians engage daily with a broad and diverse set of organizations and charities in our local area. www.longwoodrotary.com

Most recently, the three Kennett Rotary Clubs; Longwood, Kennett and Kennett Light, combined their resources to give Kennett Square’s Chief of Police William Holdsworth a grant for $3,500 for load bearing vests.  Longwood Rotary Club’s President, Vicki Gehrt and President-Elect, Rob Newman presented this check to Chief Holdsworth on behalf of all three clubs.  This is an item that is very necessary for the health and welfare of our officers as they serve our community.

In addition, Longwood Rotary Club presented Judy Jeffords-Homily, Chief Executive Officer of Safe Harbor of Chester County, Inc., a grant of $1,500 which was matched by our Rotary District Gundaker Foundation for and additional $1,000.  Safe Harbor is the only homeless shelter facility in Chester County available to both the male and female population. www.safeharborofgwc.org

Longwood Rotary Rotarians work as business and professional leaders in our community and are dedicated to the global Rotary vision of “Service Above Self”.
